The beginning
Where it all started
Elisha was sixteen and walking home when she stopped for a cat that had been hit by a car. She got it to a clinic, ended up volunteering there, and didn't really leave. By eighteen she was working full-time as a vet tech.
Fourteen years later she's still doing the same thing. Meet an animal, figure out what it needs, find a way to make that happen. The job title changed.
From one client to a small, growing team
Sunny Paws started as side visits to former clinic patients who needed continuing care at home. Word moved fast in San Diego's senior-pet community. By 2023 there were too many visits for one person.
Every caretaker since has been hand-picked by Elisha and personally trained before going out on their own. We've never run a job posting.
Better at what we already do
We're not opening a kennel. We're not franchising. The plan is to keep getting better at the medical work — for the pets that need more than a feeding and a walk.
If your pet needs the kind of care most sitters can't offer, we'd like to be the people you call.
